The farmhouse Poggio dell’Esca is located 5 km from Sansepolcro, Arezzo in Tuscany on the top of a hill known in the area with the name Poggio, from which you can enjoy a splendid view of the Vatiberina valley.

The ancient farmhouse was bought by my grandfather, a veterinarian who loved nature, then it was renovated and adapted to a farmhouse by my parents and opened to the public in 2019. The philosophy behind its realization has always been to offer a place of total privacy and relaxation away from modern cities. The house includes four bedrooms each with a private bathroom (3 double and 1 with two single beds), living room kitchen laundry and terrace. The swimming pool for the exclusive use of guests, gardens, outdoor sofas and barbecue area.

Valtiberina

A brief description of the Valtiberina and the outdoor activities that can be done there.

The Valtiberina is a beautiful valley that stretches between Tuscany, Umbria and Romagna, crossed by the upper course of the Tiber river. It is a land rich in history, art, nature and traditions, where you can admire medieval villages, museums, castles and breathtaking landscapes.

If you like outdoor activities, the Valtiberina offers many possibilities for hiking, biking or horseback riding along the trails that wind through woods, hills and rivers. You can also practice water sports such as canoeing, rafting or fishing on Lake Montedoglio or on the Tiber. Or you can relax in the thermal baths of Bagno di Romagna or visit the natural parks of Alpe della Luna and Sasso di Simone.

Sansepolcro

Sansepolcro is a small town in the province of Arezzo, Tuscany, on the border with Umbria and Marche. It was founded around an abbey dedicated to the Holy Sepulchre, from which it takes its name. It was a free commune and then a center of Renaissance culture, home to the painter Piero della Francesca. It was elevated to a city and a diocese by Pope Leo X in 1520. It is located on the banks of the Tiber river, at the crossroads of four regions. It has a rich artistic heritage, with churches, museums and monuments that preserve works by Piero della Francesca, Rosso Fiorentino, Perugino and others. It is also known for its traditional events, such as the Palio della Balestra and the Festa del Perdono.
